Anna Friel slated in national paper

Slated: Anna was described as "elegantly wasted" by a tabloid paper

Rochdale-born star Anna Friel was slated in a national newspaper for her appearance at the Elle Style Awards in London last night (Monday 9 February).

The beautiful actress was described as “frightful” after her gothic makeover, and was captioned as “elegantly wasted” in a harsh story written by the Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old was dressed in an elegant off-the-shoulder gothic dress with blood red lips and high heels, but according to the paper she was “unrecognisable”.

Ms Friel, who now lives in Los Angeles but has been spending time in the UK, recently appeared on the Jonathon Ross show, and is due to take on a new role on a BBC show called ‘The Street’ which is set in Manchester.

She is also due to be on the big screen in film Land Of The Lost starring comic actor Will Ferrell.
