Meeting to discuss future of Langley
Date published: 09 February 2009
Agencies working on the Langley estate in Middleton are coming together this week to discuss progress and ideas for the future of the estate.
The Floating Support Seminar will see representatives from 11 agencies working on Langley and Bowlee Park staff meet up to discuss community initiatives, future developments and to further strengthen relationships.
Four agencies, Brentwood, who oversee assisted living schemes, Mainstay, who deal with over 65’s accommodation, Nestac, who assist African immigrants settling in the area, and the Shelter Inclusion Project will give presentations to attendees on Wednesday (11 February) on issues surrounding their work on the estate.
Bowlee Park Housing will be giving details of the £37 million refurbishment programme covering its 1925 properties, new schemes it is undertaking and will also be looking to identify any issues or problems with delivery of service.
Also under discussion at the seminar, held at Our Lady's Catholic Parochial Centre, will be details of a new tenant Helpline.
David Taylor, Neighbourhood Management Team Leader at Bowlee Park says it is important for agencies to share information and ideas to move forward together. He said: “Ensuring we serve the community in a cohesive and structured way is imperative on an estate the size of Langley.
“This seminar will give us a real overview of progress from many of our partners which will be reflected in quality of service residents on the estate will continue to receive.”
