Arsonists torched a transit van and part of a clothes store in an early morning attack in Deeplish.
Two fire engines rushed to Ashfield Road just after 4.00am on Sunday morning (8 February) after the Mercedes Sprinter van was set alight, causing a large blaze which spread to the adjacent building, near the Weavers Arms pub.
The fire reached Haal-Quah Fashions, which suffered fire and smoke damage to the building.
It is believed that no-one was hurt in the incident.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was a deliberate fire which was started on the large transit van.
“The shop which was a few feet away also suffered damage as the flames spread quite quickly”.
“Two appliances went to the scene, both from Rochdale”.
