Shotgun fired in Co-op armed robbery

A shotgun was fired during an armed robbery at a Co-op food store on Albert Royds Street on Saturday morning (7 February).

Fortunately no-one was injured when the masked robber shot at the door of the shop as he tried to escape.

The man, who wore a black and white mask, ran out of the store and onto a nearby housing estate.

Police attended the scene shortly after 10.35am and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
