Snow delays Pennines bin collections
Date published: 06 February 2009
Some bins in parts of the Pennines Township have not been collected due to hazardous conditions on some of the higher roads following this week's snow.
The Council’s refuse collection teams have attempted to make kerbside collections in the Wardle, Littleborough, Milnrow and Newhey areas, but have experienced difficulties in some areas.
Barnes Meadows, Calderbrook Road, Bank Close, Highlands Close, Beachwood Avenue, Whitaker Drive, Willow Rise, Simeon Street, Delph Street, Higher Cleggs Wood, Heald Close, Brookfield Drive, Sorrell Drive, Ashbrooke Hey Lane, Royds Street, Stamford Street, Newfield View and unadopted roads off Rochdale Road have all been affected.
Collection crews will be revisiting any missed areas tomorrow (Saturday 7 February) subject to it being safe to do so.
Residents with any concerns should contact the Council's customer service centre on 0845 226 1800.
The council urges all motorists to drive with extra care and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
