Enough grit to last the cold snap
Date published: 06 February 2009

Traffic struggles through the snow on Manchester Road in Castleton.
Rochdale Council says it has enough grit to last through the current cold snap.
The town is preparing for a second wave of freezing cold temperatures this weekend, with more snow predicted on Sunday and gritters will be out in force.
The council has confirmed that it has had more salt brought in from its suppliers, and will not run out, unlike some other local authorities in the Midlands and the south of the country.
