Enjoy some Gilbert & Sullivan at Mayor's charity function

Nutters Restaurant will host the charity function next month.
Nutters Restaurant on Edenfield Road is hosting a fundraising event next month, with all profits going to the Rochdale Mayor's charity.
The dinner will take the form of a Sunday D’oyle Carte Lunch in the Functions Room on Sunday 1 March with a live performance of Gilbert and Sullivan songs between the courses.
Rochdale Mayor, Councillor Robin Parker, has asked the Rotary Club of Rochdale to organise the event and all proceeds will go to the mayor's charities Springhill Hospice and the British Heart Foundation.
A spokesman for the Rotary Club said: “Last year we were able to help the Mayor’s Appeal with an Opera Night at the Bella Vista Restaurant which raised £2,500.
"We were delighted to be invited by this year’s Mayor to organise an event which he wished to be at Nutters Restaurant as he had been speaking to Andrew Nutter about it.
"We felt that the event should be something that was a little different and decided to organise a Gilbert and Sullivan lunch for which Andrew Nutter has once again produced a mouthwatering menu."
All the dishes which will be served at the luncheon were signature dishes served in the private dining rooms at London’s Savoy Hotel, where each room was named after D’Oyle Carte’s productions.
The menu includes:
Patience
Paupiettes of Smoked Salmon “Savoy” with Snowcrab, Tomato and Basil Salsa
Pinafore
Corn Fed Chicken Supreme with a Bacon, Baby Onion and Mushroom Fricassee. Served with a Creamy Tarragon Veloute.
Iolanthe
Jaffa Orange and Grand Marnier Crème Brulee with Marmalade Ice Cream
Tickets for the event are strictly limited to 100 and will be sold on a first come first served basis at £38 each. Ticket application forms are available from Rochdale Town Hall, Touchstones, all Springhill Hospice charity shops, the British Heart Foundation on The Walk, Nutters Restaurant and Molesworths Bright Clegg Solicitors on Yorkshire Street.
Ticket application forms should be sent, with cheques for £38 per ticket, to Rotarian John Whitley, the Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Rochdale, whose address appears on the application form.
