The new Middleton Arena
Thousands of families in Middleton are to receive free swim vouchers to save them splashing out at the new Middleton Arena.
In a special promotion between Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) and Link4Life, the Rochdale Boroughwide Cultural Trust, free family swim vouchers have been distributed to nearly 4,000 households.
The Middleton Arena officially opened its doors in January providing top quality local sports and leisure facilities for all.
With an impressive 25 metre swimming pool, a large additional teaching pool and comfortable spectator seating, the Arena is equipped for the perfect family day out. In addition there is a 90 station fitness centre plus dance and aerobics studio, sports hall, squash courts, youth gym and a 500 seat theatre with licensed bars.
Gareth Swarbrick, Chief Executive at RBH said “We are always keen to improve the quality of life of all our tenants and we wanted to celebrate the Arena’s launch by giving everyone in Middleton a chance to try the new facilities. We are grateful to Link4Life for making this possible.”
Demand for swimming has doubled since the Arena has opened and the centre has received around 3,000 visitors a week during its first month.
Middleton Arena Manager Claire Costigan said, “The Arena is a place for everyone to visit and enjoy. We were delighted to have the opportunity to introduce its new facilities to RBH tenants in Middleton. We hope they will become regular visitors and enjoy the long-term leisure and health benefits available".
