Snow update: Middleton bin collections disrupted
Date published: 03 February 2009
The snow scene at Rochdale Town Hall.
Recycling and waste collections are continuing throughout the day today but there has been some disruption to the collection of refuse and recycled waste.
Many areas in Middleton have been deemed impassable for refuse collection wagons due to the snow and, in some cases, abandoned vehicles.
Despite the conditions, collection crews are attempting to deliver a normal service in Middleton and will try to revisit inclined areas later this afternoon.
Areas that remain uncollected are expected to be revisited tomorrow (Wednesday 4 February).
