A58 re-opens, library services cancelled
Date published: 03 February 2009
The A58 over Blackstone Edge has reopened after it was closed following last night’s snow drift. The council is currently attempting to reopen Huddersfield Road from Newhey to Shaw.
The council’s mobile library is not in operation this morning due to the failure of the heating system. The service was due to visit in the Wardleworth/Freehold areas of Rochdale. All users on this morning’s schedule have been advised by telephone of the cancellation. The council will review the position at lunchtime today.
The Doorsteps Home Library Service scheduled to run this morning in the Milnrow area has been suspended due to the adverse weather conditions. Again users have been informed by telephone. The council will reschedule this morning’s visit for this Friday (6 February) - weather permitting - and will keep users informed.
Keep checking Rochdale Online for all of the latest services to be affected by the snow.
