Police photograph of racial assault suspect.
Police in Rochdale have released a photograph of a man they would like to speak to after racially motivated assault in December last year.
The victim needed stitches to his face and body and suffered serious bruising after he was thrown down a ledge and into the River Roch on Water Street.
The 19-year old white man had been chased down Water Street by a group of asian men at around 4.30am on 14 December. When the men caught up with him they assaulted him and made racist comments.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any further information on the man in the photo to contact the Hate Crime Unit at Rochdale on 0161 856 8513 or Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111.
