Travellers back at Bowlee Park
Date published: 01 February 2009
Middleton residents have voiced their anger after travellers returned to Bowlee Park last week.
People living near to the Heywood Old Road park looked out of their windows to see more than 50 caravans on the council land on Thursday (29 January).
The area has been free of travellers since May 2007, since the Council warned them not to return.
Travellers took advantage when the main gate to the park was kept open while a phone company installed a mast on one of the fields.
The Council issued an eviction notice to have the travellers moved on.
