Date published: 26 January 2009

Oldham Athletic's captain Sean Gregan appeared before magistrates today (Monday 26 January) accused of drink driving on a motorway in Rochdale.

The League One defender appeared at Rochdale Magistrates Court, where he denied driving with excess alcohol.

The case has been adjourned until 27 March.

It was alleged he was driving a Volkswagon Golf under the influence of alcohol on the M62, near Rochdale, on 3 October.

Gregan has made more than 600 career appearances in English football, scoring 21 goals.

He signed for Oldham Athletic on a two-and-a-half year contract in January 2007.
