Middleton school opens after £3.5M construction
Date published: 15 January 2009
The doors to a Middleton multi million pound new primary school have finally opened after a £3.5M construction project.
Pupils and staff at Bowlee Park Community School, Langley, have moved into their newly renovated classrooms in the building on Windermere Road.
Alongside a complete renovation of the former Furrow Primary buildings which provided a shell for the new school, a state-of-the-art computer suite has been installed while outside a sheltered conservatory type area has been built allowing foundation and key stage one youngsters outdoor access whatever the weather.
A new planting area has also been created outside, while indoors each year group has two dedicated classrooms with a shared resource area room in the middle.
There are also specific rooms for music, drama, literacy and 'curriculum' rooms.
And the entrance area has been designed to allow a separate training area to be created which community groups can hire for meetings or other functions.
