The Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team have begun five days of action to tackle car crime in the Kirkholt area.
Police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) are patrolling the area and urging residents not to encourage car crime by leaving valuables in their vehicles.
Inspector Michelle Hughes said: “While there has not been a large amount of car crime in the area we would just like to urge residents to be extra vigilant about their vehicle and the items they are leaving in them. We’ve found expensive items such as satellite navigation systems and laptops left in vehicles, which is encouraging thieves to break in.
“By holding these special days I hope that we will be able to raise awareness and reduce the number of incidents in the area.”
