Pensioner falls victim to carjacking attack

An elderly man was dragged out of his vehicle in a vicious carjacking in Firgrove.
The 73-year-old was waiting at traffic lights in Milnrow Road when he was a approached by a youth who got out of a black Volkswagen Golf.
He told the victim that his headlights had gone out, before opening the drivers door and flinging him into the road before making off in the Renault van.
Police say the victim did not see the driver of the Golf but saw that one of the passengers was a young girl, believed to be around five years of age.
The thief is described as white, around 17 years old, 5ft 6in and of stocky build. He was wearing a striped top.
The Renault was dumped in Channing Street, Newbold and recovered by the police shortly afterwards.
