Get the Project X factor
Date published: 12 January 2009
Young volunteers are required to come together and plan, deliver and manage their own large youth event and they could earn some cash in the process.
The event is part of Project X, which is aimed at providing youngsters from Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale with new skills to help them move on into further training or employment.
Pride Media Association is looking for 12 young people aged 16-19 who are not in education, training or employment, who want to develop skills and take on weekly challenges in every aspect of event management from publicity and design to stewarding and security, with the option of picking up some Dj-ing skills on the way.
The team will put together and manage a brand new under 18’s night, hosted in a local night club, and then make young people across the Borough excited about it, and want to spend their cash and attend.
Each team member will be rewarded with cash for their efforts and achievements. Team members will be able to earn a percentage of the income generated by the event ticket sales, which could be up to £100 each.
Jonathan Burns, Managing Director at Pride Media Association, said: "Project X is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the town, this unique experience will provide an inspiring challenge and enable them to discover new skills and get a taste for a range of career roles in a highly popular industry.
"If you fancy yourself as the next apprentice and want to prove yourself whilst earning some cash at the same time, Project X wants to hear from you. We are looking for young people who are not currently in education, training or employment who are ready for a challenge and are up for learning new skills which they can apply in the working world."
If you are a young person, or if you know of a young person who would like to be part of Project X then contact Joanne at Pride Media Association on 0161 643 6266 or projectx@pridemedia.co.uk
