Police hunt vicious bottle attacker
Date published: 12 January 2009
Police are on the hunt for a criminal who has breached the terms of his release from prison.
Miguel Talamantes was sentenced to life imprisonment at Manchester Crown Court in 2001 and ordered to serve 22 months after a vicious attack with a glass bottle in Shawclough.
A Whitworth man was released from prison and placed under licence, and ordered to attend appointments with the probation service.
But the 28-year-old went missing last year after breaching the conditions of his release.
Now police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing him.
Inspector John Clucas, from Lancashire Constabulary, said: "We would actively seek the public’s assistance in arresting this person.
"He has been seen in Whitworth recently and he does have relatives in the area.
"Anybody with information can pass this on to the police by the usual channels, by email if they look at the wanted on recall web pages on the Lancashire Police website or via Crimestoppers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire police on 08451 25 35 45, visit www.lancashire.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
