Tables turn for youngster's afternoon tea
Date published: 12 January 2009
Children attending Out of School clubs celebrated National Parenting Week by inviting their parents, carers and grandparents for a nice cup of afternoon tea.
The creative youngsters made personal invitations to send to the adults, and even hand-crafted the menus and laid the tables especially for their guests.
Upon arrival a designated child escorted a parent/guardian to their specially prepared table and took their order.
While the visitors enjoyed being waited on, staff took the opportunity to conduct a brief consultation on “getting it right for families” to help create a small parenting tips booklet.
One parent said: “I enjoyed my cup of coffee and scone and I look forward to many more days like this”.
