Parachute jump for free and raise vital funds for Springhill Hospice.
Rochdale Online reporter Kirsty Rigg is taking the plunge to raise money for Springhill Hospice. The brave journalist will jump out of a plane from 10,000 feet in a tandem skydive on Saturday 28 March.
As part of the jump, she must raise £395 to give to the charity.
Springhill Hospice has teamed up with Skyline and has 20 places reserved with the famous Black Knights parachute team.
There are three types of jumps available; an accelerated freefall, where you can experience the thrill of diving solo from up to 12,000 feet, the tandem skydive from 10,000 feet, or a static line jump, which is performed solo from 3000 feet.
Kirsty said she is very excited about the jump. She said: “I’ve done a bungee jump before, but never anything this brave.
“I’d by lying if I said I wasn’t a little anxious but it is worth it to raise money for the Springhill Hospice. I have started receiving sponsors but I have a long way to go until I get to £395, but I’m sure it can be done”.
