Grant could improve health of local people
Date published: 07 January 2009
A new grant is in the pipeline intended to help boost the health of local people.
The Primary Care Trust submitted plans to the Pennines Township Fund Grants Sub-Committee which were aimed at developing Health and Wellbeing Partnerships in local areas.
Linking in with the Healthy Community Scheme, the partnerships were created in order to reduce smoking and obesity as well as to improve mental and emotional well-being. They also provide people with tips on looking after your heart and raising awareness of risk factors of heart disease.
Proposals by the Pennine Township agreed that local organisations be contacted with advice on how to submit a bid and receive funding from the committee and there is currently no maximum limit for grants in the 2008/09 year.
