Rochdale man arrested in Walsden in alleged sexual assault case

Police arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with an allegation of serious sexual assault in Walsden in the early hours of Tuesday 30 December 30.
A police spokesman said: "A 40-year-old man from Rochdale has been arrested and is being questioned by detectives."
Police confirmed they were investigating an allegation of serious sexual assault in Walsden at 1.19 am that morning. The car park, off Rochdale Road, Walsden, was cordoned off while officers examined the site.
It is alleged a 17-year-old girl from the Todmorden area was assaulted in the car park.
