£2.2M regeneration grant
Date published: 06 January 2009
The North West Development Agency (NWDA) is to give Rochdale £2.2M for a regeneration scheme to help bring jobs to the town. The money will be spent on buying sites and businesses in and around the Oldham Road area for development.
The scheme is part of Rochdale Development Agency’s Brighter Futures project to regenerate inner Rochdale, including areas of Milkstone, Deeplish and Newbold, over the next 10 to 15 years, including the Housing Market Renewal scheme aiming to improve housing in Milkstone and Deeplish.
It is also intended to complement the Metrolink extension, the Kingsway Business Park and multi-million pound proposals to transform the town centre.
