Rochdale policeman charged with misconduct

A long-standing Rochdale police officer has appeared in court , accused of misconduct in public office.
PC Robert Bowen, 44, was charged last month, with wilful misconduct in a public office.
The allegation followed a 10-month investigation by the force's Professional Standards Branch (PSB).
PC Bowen, of Rochdale, appeared before Warrington magistrates and was bailed to appear before Warrington Crown Court on 23 January.
The traffic officer, who remains suspended until the court proceedings are concluded, spoke only to confirm his details.
PC Bowen has more than 20 years of experience as a police officer.
