Recycle your real Christmas tree

Christmas Tree
When the festive season comes to an end, recycle your real Christmas tree. You can take your cut tree to one of a number of recycling sites across the borough from Monday 2 to Friday 19 January 2009.
Last year Rochdale Borough Council recycled 3,000 Christmas trees, saving 12 tonnes of waste from going to landfill. This waste was then put to good use as mulch around the borough’s parks. This year the Council is urging people to use their local recycling collection points and smash last year’s recycling figures.
The recycling collection points for Middleton are as follows:
- Alkrington Woods Car Park (opposite Golf Club)
- Kirkway (just off Grimshaw Lane)
- Boarshaw Road Open Space (opposite no.351)
- Truffet Park, Bowness Road (car park)
