Heywood man killed in collision

A 46-year-old Heywood man has died following a collision with a car in north Manchester.
Shortly before 9.10pm on Wednesday 24 December 2008, the man, named as James Patrick Murphy was walking along Queens Road near the junction with Windthorpe Avenue, where he was in collision with a Honda Civic.
He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the circumstances that led to James' death.
Though living in Heywood, James had family in Monsall and Langley.
His loved ones, including mother Patricia and brother David will miss him greatly.
The driver of the Honda, a 37-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death while driving without due care and attention and has been bailed until Saturday 7 February 2009.
