Man killed in railings collision

A motorist died when his car crashed into a set of railings in Castleton, police have said.

The accident happened on Manchester Road  in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers at the scene found a Vauxhall Corsa had crashed into railings, but no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The 59-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said.
