Seasonal events at the lake promise to bring festive family fun
Date published: 18 December 2008
It’s all happening at Hollingworth Lake this Christmas period as the picturesque tourist attraction puts on some seasonal fun aimed at getting the family away from the glare of the TV.
The events kick off this Saturday (20 December) at 11am with the ‘Solstice Circular’, a guided countryside walk for young and old alike, while Sunday sees an afternoon of arts and crafts at the visitor centre from 2pm onwards.
Boxing Day welcomes the public with traditional mince pies and punch while New Years Day brings “A Walk in the Park”, the perfect opportunity to do away with those seasonal pounds.
All these events come courtesy of Rochdale Council’s Countryside Service and they’re all free of charge!
The visitor centre will be open everyday over the holidays, excluding Christmas Day. For further details about the events telephone 01706 373421.
