Festive family fun day at Wheatsheaf library

Families are invited to enjoy some festive fun at the Wheatsheaf library on Saturday (13 December) to celebrate the end of the National Year of Reading.
There will be a number of events taking place throughout the day including poetry readings, carol singing and crafts.
The day will begin with ‘In Accord’ performing Christmas carols from 11am when mince pies and coffee will be served.
Poet Craig Bradley will be leading two family poetry performances. The first at 12pm is entitled ‘Pass the Poetry Parcel’ and the second, ‘Christmas Poetry Present’ at 2pm.
At 1pm there will be a magic show with Guy de Paul followed by craft activities where children can have a go at making Christmas gift boxes in the children’s area.
A special “Sign and Rhyme” event for under 5s taking place will take place in the special services unit on the Upper Mall from 3 until 3.30pm.
