Heavy workload for Rochdale police
Date published: 05 December 2008
Rochdale police officers attended an average of 213 incidents each in 2007, the second highest in Greater Manchester, despite the fact that the Rochdale force has the third lowest number of officers in the region.
Provisional figures for this year show that Rochdale's officers have attended the highest number of incidents in Greater Manchester, at 156 each.
91,193 incidents took place in Rochdale last year, while there were only 428 officers available to attend them, with support from 54 police community support officers. Only Trafford and Tameside police employ less officers.
