Car blaze in Bamford
Date published: 26 November 2008
Fire fighters rushed to Bamford after a car heating system set ablaze.
Crews were called to Glenmore Close shortly after 8pm last night (Tuesday 25 November) to tackle the blaze which destroyed the passenger side of the Land Rover car which was in a driveway.
A spokesman from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “The car was in the driveway and could have caused damage to the property had we have not put it out.
“We believe the cause to be accidental, caused by a seat heating system which had been left on.
“We urge everyone to take care with these kinds of facilities and to make sure they are switched off properly.”
