Walk in Centre services return

From Monday (17 November), services will resume as normal at the NHS Walk in Centre, on Whitehall Street, Rochdale.

Services have been temporarily relocated at Rochdale Infirmary Accident and Emergency (A&E) and Baillie Street Health Centre following a flea infestation at Whitehall Street building.

An intensive treatment, deep clean and redecoration of the building has now been completed.

The Walk in Centre will be open:

Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 9:30pm
Saturday and Sunday (and bank holidays) 10:00am to 5:30pm

The Walk in Centre provides healthcare advice and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries from specialist nurses.
Patients do not require an appointment for these services.

The Dental Access Centre is also located at the Walk in Centre and provides emergency dental treatment to patients who are in acute pain. Patients have to make an appointment by telephoning 01706 708053.

The local out of hours GP service, Bury and Rochdale Doctors On Call (BARDOC), will also return to the centre and can be contacted on 0161 763 4242.

NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale and Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust will be working together to develop plans on how the Walk In Centre and A&E services can continue to closely work together going forward.

Therefore, a team will be working on plans to progress this for the future, considering everything from patient needs to staffing and location.
