New a-z guide to council services

Date published: 11 November 2008

From Abandoned vehicles to Zebra crossings, Rochdale Council have produced an a-z guide to council services that they hope will become the ‘must have’ reference for residents when contacting the council.

The 34 page guide is being delivered to every home across Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale and Pennines this month. It will also be available from libraries, leisure centres, customer service centres and public reception areas all year round.

Featuring a brief description, telephone number and email address for the council’s most frequently used services, the new a-z has been designed to make it easier for residents to get the best value from the council, making contact with someone who can help them immediately with their enquiry.

The guide contains a wide range of useful information including addresses of libraries, customer service centres and leisure centres. At the back of the guide is an ‘a-z extra’, listing the telephone numbers of many other organisations that provide useful services.

Deputy Council Leader Irene Davidson said: “Providing good value for money continues to be a priority. We want to make it easier for people to contact the council and get hold of the right person, first time. The a-z guide has been designed with this in mind. I hope residents will find it helpful and will choose to keep it close by in case they need to contact us.”

Additional copies of the a-z guide to council services are available from customer service centres, council receptions, libraries and leisure centres.
