Winter Skills and Jobs Fair

Out of work or just fancy a change, then why not give yourself the chance of a new job for Christmas?

Heywood Winter Skills and Jobs Fair will be taking place at the Civic Centre on Tuesday, 18 November from 10.30am until 4.30pm and will be opened by the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Robin Parker.You will get the opportunity to meet local employers, talk to skills and training providers, discuss current and future vacancies and completely plan your future career. 

Representatives from many area’s of employment will be on hand to give help and advice. They will include retail, health and social care, administration, customer service, sales, the Army and the Police Force and many more. 

Organised by At Work, the New Heart for Heywood funded employment project, the event will even include a Santa’s Grotto so bring the kids. 

Susan Coates, Chair of Heywood New Deal Partnership said: “Any initiative that helps get people jobs is to be applauded. I am sure that residents will get great benefit from this Jobs Fair and hopefully back into work.” 

At Work Account Manager, Stephen Bland said: “ We have had a very successful two years in Heywood and have formed a great partnership with the NDC and more recently with Skills 4 U. We are pleased to organise this event and look upon it as a celebration of our work in the town and hope it will become an annual event and form part of the NDC legacy for the town.”
