By-election date for North Middleton
Date published: 25 October 2007
A by-election has been called in the North Middleton ward in respect of the seat vacated following the sad death of Councillor Ian Roberston.
The Chief Executive as Returning Officer has agreed that the by-election be held on 29 November 2007.
Notice of election was published on 25 October 2007 and the close of nominations will be 2 November at 12.00 pm.
As the election has been called prior to the revised electoral register being published on 1 December, people had to be on the electoral register for this ward on 1 August to be able to vote in this by-election. Therefore, people who have moved in from another ward are not eligible to vote, but those who have moved out, are.
Rochdale Council are advising postal voters who have moved house within the ward or out of the ward to apply for a new postal vote as they will not automatically receive one. For more information please contact the Electoral Services Helpline on 01706 924791. Electoral Services staff are aiming to contact those affected to assist them in receiving a postal vote.
