NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale is encouraging residents across the area to Speak Up! about future health priorities before its consultation ends on 7 November.
NHS HMR receives more than £330 million from the Government to buy the right health services and is looking how best to use this money to improve the health and well-being of everyone in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.
NHS HMR have outlined their future health plans for the next five years to and they want to know if they are focusing on the right areas.
The Speak Up! It’s Your Health consultation, launched in August, gives residents the opportunity to comment on the proposals, and ends on Friday 7 November.
Denise Dawson, Patient Experience Manager at NHS HMR said: “We’ve had lots of feedback so far, which is great, as it shows that the health issues being covered in the Speak Up! consultation are really important to local people. We’ve held various events with patients, the public, stakeholders and partners but we want everyone to get involved and give us their views.
“There’s only a few weeks left of the consultation and I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t already given feedback to do so.”
Preventing ill health is central within the plan, helping people to lead a healthier lifestyle and live longer. Future plans include developing more care closer to home, developing more GP and dental services, ensuring high quality hospital care, and improving mental health, children and young peoples’ and adult and older peoples’ services.
As an incentive and a thank you for taking part, people who complete the form by 7 November will be entered into a free prize draw. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd include a choice of a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit, a weekend break for two or a 12 month leisure pass for two.
People can also go to www.speakupnow.co.uk where they will be able to find out more about the consultation and complete the questionnaire online.
