Residents of Littleborough and the surrounding areas are invited to attend a series of community drop-in sessions to stay informed about the ongoing flood risk management scheme in their area.
Organised by the Environment Agency in collaboration with contractor Volker Stevin, these sessions will provide updates on the project and offer an opportunity for locals to raise any questions or concerns they may have.
The drop-in sessions will be held at Littleborough Library on Hare Hill Road (OL15 9HE) on alternate Thursdays, running until 5 December. Each session will take place between 10am and 2.30pm.
The full schedule of dates is as follows:
- Thursday, 12 September
- Thursday, 26 September
- Thursday, 10 October
- Thursday, 24 October
- Thursday, 7 November
- Thursday, 21 November
- Thursday, 5 December
During these sessions, representatives from the Environment Agency and Volker Stevin will be on hand to provide the latest information about the scheme, which aims to significantly reduce the risk of flooding in Littleborough and surrounding areas.
This is an opportunity for residents to engage directly with the teams responsible for the project, ensuring that the community remains informed and involved.
The Rochdale and Littleborough flood risk management scheme is designed to address the high flood risk in both towns. In addition to flood prevention, the Environment Agency aims to enhance local environments by creating or improving habitats as part of the scheme. Ongoing environmental surveys will help identify suitable locations for these enhancements.

Residents are encouraged to drop by Littleborough Library during any of the scheduled sessions to learn more about the project and voice their thoughts.
