Date published: 15 August 2024

A new image has emerged of a man police wish to speak to in connection with disorder outside Rochdale Police Station on 25 July.

Crowds swarmed the station in protest after a viral video showed a GMP officer kicking and stamping on a man’s head, as he lay on the floor. Days later, wider footage emerged showing the lead up to the incident.

The station protest prompted a police investigation with the following faces released:

The last image is an addition to the collection of men that are of interest in connection with the incident.

The protest saw hundreds gathered outside the station in the town centre in the wake of a viral video showing a police officer kicking a man in the head at Manchester Airport. Chants of ‘GMP shame on you’ were heard and fireworks were said to be let off at the demonstration against Greater Manchester Police.

Around 200 people were reported to be in attendance outside the station.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We are investigating an outbreak of disorder which took place outside Rochdale police station on Thursday 25 July 2024 and are seeking to identify the following people as part of our investigation.

"If you recognise the people pictured, please get in touch with police through the MIPP portal.

"Alternatively, contact us on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting Operation Milnthorpe."
