Rochdale Infirmary Outpatients Department
Healthwatch Rochdale has published their findings and recommendations following a recent revisit to the outpatients department at Rochdale Infirmary.
The review, conducted in March 2024, was a follow-up to an earlier inspection in February 2023. During the initial visit, Healthwatch Rochdale made seven recommendations for improving the outpatient services.
The recent revisit revealed that only four of these recommendations had been fully implemented.
In light of this, Healthwatch Rochdale has proposed an additional eight recommendations for further improvements. The management at Rochdale Infirmary has responded with an action plan, which was submitted within the statutory timeframe.
Kate Jones, chief executive officer of Healthwatch Rochdale, said: “The outpatients department is well on its way to being refreshed; the reception area is looking amazing.
"Healthwatch Rochdale is keen to see information in various languages to represent patient flow within the department and the ethnic communities within Rochdale that attend here.
"The updated action plan will be monitored by Healthwatch Rochdale ensuring Northern Care Alliance complete the actions they have implemented.”
