Rochdale's most (and least) expensive streets over the last 5 years

Date published: 03 August 2024

Rochdale's property market has shown a significant disparity in house prices, with new figures showing the most and least expensive streets to buy a property in the town over the last half a decade.

Emerging as the most expensive street is Furbarn Road in Norden, with houses selling for an average of £729,333. Meanwhile, Henderson Street in Hamer surfaced as the least expensive over the past five years, with an average sale price of £50,650.

Figures from Property Solvers also show that Broadhalgh Avenue (OL11) follows closely behind as the second most expensive, with five properties averaging £701,000. Eton Close (OL11) also ranks high, with three properties averaging £635,000.

Conversely, Henderson Street (OL12) tops the list of least expensive streets, where three properties sold for an average of £50,650. Laurie Place (OL12) and Sandy Lane (OL11) are also among the most affordable, with average prices of £56,916 and £61,333, respectively.

Commenting on the data, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said, “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.”

He added, “It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Ryefields (OL11) sold for £1,225,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £33,625 and under on Oldham Road (OL16), Oswald Street (OL16) and Birch Hill Clock Tower (OL16).”
