Man found in side street with life-threatening injuries
Police officers say they are working to piece together what happened to a man who was found with life threatening injuries in Heywood town centre.
Officers say they are not ruling out an assault on the man, who is currently being treated in hospital for serious injuries.
The man was found on Gale Street in Heywood at around 5.50pm on Thursday (11 July), and officers have now launched an investigation to try and establish how the injuries happened.
Anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the areas around the Bury New Road junctions of High Street, Regent Street, and Rose Hill between 4.45pm and 5.35pm are asked to please contact police.
Detective Sergeant Timothy O’Callaghan, from GMP’s Rochdale district, said: “We are working to piece together the exact timeline of what led to this man suffering serious injuries.
“Our initial enquiries cannot rule out a potential assault or attack, which is why we are asking for people to contact us.
“We would appreciate anyone who has any relevant footage or information getting in touch – it could greatly benefit our ongoing work.
“You can contact police via 101 or gmp.police.uk, quoting log 2908 of 11/07/24. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
