Massive new industrial warehouse complex next to M62 approved
A massive complex of industrial warehouses will soon be coming to the Kingsway Business Park in Rochdale.
Four new employment units with a combined internal floorspace of 12,807m² will be built at the site now planning permission has been granted to developers Wilson Bowden Developments Ltd. The new industrial buildings sit just off Junction 21 of the M62 on what is called ‘Plot L’ of the business park.
The warehouses will mainly be used for storage, production and distribution for commercial businesses with office space on the above floors, according to planning documents.
The scheme as proposed would include the largest unit, L1, at the south-east corner of the site at the site frontage, with the smaller units L3 and L4 at the north boundary, and unit L2 set to the rear of the site. A total of 57 car parking spaces would be provided to the unit including six electric vehicle parking spaces and four disabled spaces.
Glencar Construction has been appointed to deliver the other new industrial warehouse project on the same complex. The same developer has started work on ‘Plot J’ for two units of 87,000 sq.ft. and 116,500 sq.ft, which are set to be completed by the end of 2024.
