Elm Wood Primary School hosts successful summer fayre

Date published: 20 July 2024

Elm Wood Primary School held its annual summer fayre on 6 July, an event that has become a staple in the local community's calendar.

The fayre featured an array of attractions designed to engage and entertain attendees of all ages. Popular stalls included face painting and the ever-exciting "dunk the teacher" booth, both of which drew substantial crowds throughout the day.

The refreshments stall proved to be a particular highlight, offering a variety of delicious treats and beverages that contributed significantly to the event's overall success. Children and adults alike enjoyed the bouncy castle, which remained a hub of activity from start to finish.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the renowned Rock Choir performed a series of lively and engaging songs, captivating the audience and enhancing the community spirit of the event.

The event also had the honour of a visit from the Mayor of Rochdale, whose presence underscored the importance of the event to the local area. It was meticulously organised by the Friends of Elm Wood PTFA, a dedicated group of parents, teachers, and friends of the school.

Their hard work and commitment were evident in the seamless execution of the event. The primary objective of the fayre was to raise funds for Elm Wood Primary School, with the current fundraising efforts focused on revamping the school's library.

The school community extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the fayre and to all those who volunteered their time and effort to make the day a resounding success. The support and enthusiasm of the attendees and volunteers alike were crucial in achieving the event's goals and in fostering a strong sense of community.

Elm Wood Primary School summer fayre not only provided a day of fun and entertainment but also played a vital role in supporting the school's ongoing projects, reinforcing the enduring bond between the school and its community.
