Multiple arrests on Stoneyvale Court by plain-clothed police

Date published: 04 July 2024

In a concerted effort to crack down on criminal activity, the Rochdale neighbourhood policing team made several arrests at Stoneyvale Court on Thursday (27 June). The operation, led by plain-clothed officers resulted in significant actions against various individuals.

The first male was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs in the woods behind Stoneyvale Court. An e-bike was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act (RTA).

The second male was arrested for possession of Class A drugs and failure to appear (FTA) in court. He was charged and remanded in custody. A car, which was used in the crime, was also seized.

The third male was arrested for possession of Class A drugs and possession of a bladed article.

The fourth male was summoned for driving without a licence or insurance on Dicken Green Lane. An off-road motorbike was seized under Section 165 of the RTA.

The fifth male was subjected to a stop and search under Section 23. Although nothing was found, he attempted to purchase drugs following the first arrest for possession with intent to supply and tried to flee.

The sixth male was subjected to another stop and search under Section 23. This known drug user was found at the location of drug dealing and attempted to walk away from officers.

The seventh male was also subjected to a stop and search under Section 23. He was in the vicinity where the possession with intent to supply offender was arrested.

The series of arrests is part of a broader initiative to improve safety and reduce crime in Rochdale.

The presence of plain-clothed officers demonstrates the police's commitment to taking proactive measures against illegal activities and responding to community concerns.

Residents of Stoneyvale Court and surrounding areas are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious activities to ensure ongoing support and intervention from the local police force.
