Groundwork Recruits New Operations Director

Date published: 24 October 2008

Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale has appointed Teresa Jennings to the role of Operations Director, with responsibility for developing the quality and impact of the wide range of services that Groundwork offers in Oldham and Rochdale.

Teresa, who took up the role on 21 October, has enjoyed a progressive senior career over recent years with central and local Government and more latterly with ENCAMS, a Government funded charity that operates across England and is a leading expert in the environmental field.

Previous experience includes being a People and Places Manager at Wigan Council, secondment spells in both the former Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and various senior roles within ENCAMS.

After graduating from University, Teresa volunteered with Groundwork in the Trafford Park area and has also been on a Prince’s Trust course – just two of the services that her new organisation offers.

In the new role at Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale Teresa will be responsible for the four main operational areas – Community Programmes, Environmental Business Services, Youth and Employability Services.

Cliff Ellison, Executive Director, Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, said: “I am delighted that Teresa has joined us. She has excellent skills and very relevant experience at a senior level. This will enable us to really develop and expand our services that can and do make such a difference to lives within our communities.”
