Talented teen making waves in the dance world

Date published: 23 June 2024

A gifted teenager is making significant strides in the competitive dance scene, securing second place at a national streetdance championships qualifier.

Daisie-Leigh Brierley took to the stage at the BDO qualifiers in Wilmslow in April, and managed to come second in both the 12 & under solo and 12 & under duo categories - whilst her team from RW Dance took first place.

The year 8 Matthew Moss pupil, who has just turned 13, has now moved up to the 14 & under category and is set to shine at the national British Dance Off event in Llandudno.

Daisie-Leigh’s journey began when she joined RW Dance School based in Manchester in September 2020, and since then, her commitment and passion have been nothing short of remarkable.

Her teacher Becky has told her that she’s confident in her abilities and looks forward to seeing her on this larger stage.

Mum Ashley told Rochdale Online: “I’m really proud of her, she’s done so well.

“She spends numerous hours dedicated to practising over four days each week, often sacrificing her weekends to rehearsals for upcoming shows and competitions. Her hard work and persistence have paid off.”
