Delight as school gains Carnegie mental health award

A headteacher has spoken of her delight after her school received a special award for significant contributions to the field of mental health.
Mrs Laura Bolton, head of St Gabriel’s RC Primary School in Castleton, was proud to announce that the school gained the Carnegie Mental Health Award silver status, which highlights efforts in promoting mental health awareness.
The award also recognises the implementing of innovative practices that benefit the mental well-being of pupils, staff, parents, and the wider local community.
Achieving silver status signifies a high level of commitment and impact in mental health, showcasing efforts that go above and beyond standard practices to support mental health initiatives and improve the lives of those affected by mental health issues.
Recipients of this award demonstrate excellence in areas under the framework competencies which are:

- Support for staff
- Professional development and learning
- Support for pupils
- Working with parents and carers
