M6 Youth Theatre cross boundaries

Date published: 23 October 2008

Young performers from Rochdale's M6 Youth Theatre are heading to The Midlands on Monday (27 October) for five days as part of a collaborative arts project ‘Crossing Boundaries’, with seven other Youth Theatre groups from the North of England.

Crossing Boundaries gives young people the opportunity to come together and work with theatre professionals to create a brand new piece of theatre.

The finished work will be performed at The Grange Arts Centre, Rochdale Road, Oldham on Saturday 1 November at 6.30pm.

The participants, all aged from 14 to 25, will work alongside young people from Oldham Theatre Workshop, The Octagon and Phoenix Theatre (both Bolton), Next Generation Youth Theatre (Mossley), So Many Words (Salford) and New Vic Youth Theatre (Newcastle-under-Lyme).

The theme for the week is ‘communication’. The group will explore the advances and potential problems that modern technology poses to human communication during the week-long residential workshop at The Kingswood Centre, Wolverhampton.

Tickets for the final performance at the Grange Arts Centre are free but must be booked in advance.

Call Craig Harris at Oldham Theatre Workshop on 0161 770 3241 to reserve your place.
