Castleton pub enters good beer guide

Campaign for Real Ale
The New Inn on Manchester Road has gained entry in to the 2009 edition of the Campaign for Real Ale's Good Beer Guide.
It is the first time that the Castleton hostelry has been recognised in the guide and is the only pub in Castleton to have an entry in this years guide.
The strict criteria for entry into the guide dictates that the pub must sell at least one hand pumped real ale at all times and that the pint must be of a consistantly high standard.
The New Inn sells several different brews from Robinsons Brewery of Stockport.
Commenting on the entry, Castleton ward Councillor Peter Davison said: "This pub offers good beer in an extremely pleasant environment. The landlady, Kath Hague, deserves great credit for what she has achieved in the two years she has been here. This award will come as no surprise to any one who drinks in the pub."
