Prince’s Trust need a community project
Date published: 22 October 2008
Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale Prince’s Trust Rochdale Team 76 will soon be starting their 12-week programme based at Spotland and Falinge Community Centre on Spotland Road.
The young people are asking residents of Rochdale for help in finding a suitable Community Project to get stuck into.
The team has to organise the Community Project as part of their 12-week self-development programme. The project is carried out in weeks three, four, five and six and the young people fundraise to pay for any materials that they will require.
Throughout the project they build on skills such as project management, time management, money management, teamwork and
leadership. The Community Project is an opportunity for the team to help benefit people from the local community.
Lisa Daly, Groundwork Prince’s Trust Team Leader, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for the young people on the Team to work in the Rochdale area and enhance their lives, as well as the lives of others. They will be learning new skills and showing that they can make a positive impact on the local community, making it a more welcoming place and a focal point for the residents. The projects the teams complete are important, as the improvements made always draw the communities closer together.”
The success of the Community Project relies on the generous donations from businesses and people within the community. If anyone wishes to make a donation to the Princes’ Trust and to Team R76’s Community Project contact Lisa Daly, Prince’s Trust Team Leader on 077399 78796 or 0161 624 1444.
The Community Project starts on the Monday 17 November and finishes on 12 of December.
